Lauren Norwood

Lauren is ASHA certified and graduated with a Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology from the University of Georgia in 1999 after graduating Magna Cum Laude from The University of Georgia in 1996 with her degree in Communication Science and Disorders. Lauren completed her hospital internship with Shepherd Center in Atlanta and her school internship and clinical fellowship with Gwinnett County Public Schools. While completing her clinical fellowship, Lauren completed coursework for an additional certification in Early Childhood Special Education. In 2000 Lauren began her specialty in pediatrics in her own practice in the Atlanta area while intermittently continuing to work with the public schools. Lauren is a self-described continuing education "junkie" and has attained extensive continuing education including training in Beckman Oral Motor Therapy, Kaufman Apraxia assessment and treatment, PROMPT system, Talk Tools oral motor and feeding treatment, myofascial release, and many more. Her treatment experience includes infants as young as 6 weeks to adult geriatrics with a focus in pediatrics. She has practiced in and out patient rehab, home based, community based, and school system settings as well as in private practice.
